Impacting those around me has brought opportunities and accomplishments I never imagined possible.

ABOUT
Me

My name is Andres Jose Cardenas. I have attended St. George Parish School in Ontario, since 2008, when I began Junior Kindergarten. After graduation in June, I will be a third generation Hispanic graduating from Catholic school. I am proud to hold this honor, and look forward to continuing my education at Aquinas High School. I am applying for this scholarship to continue living my inheritance of Catholic morals and values. I come from a family that has revolved their lives around spiritual devotion, commitment to both personal and church families, charity work and respect for and promotion of human dignity. My great grandparents, grandparents, and parents all believe in the value of Catholic education. Our family has dedicated itself to Catholic education. It is a treasured part of our family history. The Diocese of San Bernardino is where our vines of life, faith and education were planted as seeds and continue to grow. The torch of our family's legacy is now in my hands.

My great grandparents began our family legacy, when they helped Father Joseph C. Mackey and the Presentation Sisters build Our Lady of Lourdes Church and School in Montclair, California. My great grandfather constructed the sewer lines, and my great grandmother was an active part of the School and Church for over 65 years. Their five children, which includes my grandma, all attended Catholic school. Our family is blessed with our Great Aunt Sister Lucy Regalado. She is a nun and serves God at Victory Noll in Indiana. My grandparents are currently active members of St. George Parish School and Church. They sent their five daughters to Catholic school, which includes my mom. My grandparents are proud to witness all five of their grandchildren attending St. George Parish School now. My parents are dedicated to our rich heritage. My brother, my cousins and I are the third generation of hope, love, and faith. Our family vines of Catholic education and service will continue to grow, because I am committed to keeping our history alive. I am a Catholic leader.
